Nationally renowned
motivational speaker Paul Vitale had a busy
one-day visit to Martin County Nov. 19.
Vitale began his day by
addressing more than 50 members of the business
community during “Legendary Leadership in
Action,” a CHARACTER COUNTS! Ethics in the
Workplace professional seminar sponsored in part
by Lively Orthodontics and The Firefly Group at
the Wolf High-Technology Center on the Chastain
Campus of Indian River State College in Stuart.
Vitale explained his six
vital traits of a successful leader during the
seminar, which are:
-
Express a genuine
interest in mankind
-
Encourage steady
streams of dialogue
-
Ignite the eagerness in
others
-
Compose unique designs
-
Exhibit authentic
actions
-
Trust in the truth of
courage
The Shared Services Network
of Martin County then sponsored Vitale’s mid-day
visit to Martin County High School where he
spoke to 450 tenth-graders about the effects of
risky behavior and how only a student can
protect their own name, including how important
it is to a student’s future that they do not
compromise their values by becoming involved in
the use of illegal substances.
“The enthusiasm that Paul
Vitale brings to his presentations is truly an
inspiration to students and adults,” Shared
Services Network Facilitator/Parent
Liaison Donna Hosang said. “Paul’s unique way of
engaging students to participate helps to make
his message real.”
Vitale accentuated the
following points during his presentation at MCHS:
-
Choose challenge over
comfort
-
Exemplify confidence –
not arrogance
-
Pursue knowledge
enthusiastically
-
Undoubtedly be yourself
-
Dwell on what you have
– not what you want
-
Don’t sabotage yourself
-
Promote hope over
hatred
-
Created memorable
impressions
Vitale finished his day in
Martin County by speaking to United Way of
Martin County donors and encouraging them to
continue to support UWMC programs during a
Leadership Recognition event sponsored by Martin
Memorial Health Systems and Smith Barney at the
Smith Barney office in Stuart.
