‘Tee It Up’ for CHARACTER
COUNTS! April 29
The eighth annual CHARACTER
COUNTS! “Tee it up for Character” charity golf
tournament is only weeks away and foursomes are
filling up fast.
The four-person scramble golf
tournament, the sole fundraiser for United Way of
Martin County’s CHARACTER COUNTS! program, begins
with a 1 p.m. shotgun start on April 29 at Monarch
Country Club, 1801 S.W. Monarch Club Drive in Palm
City.
Entry fee is $150 per golfer
and includes a dinner buffet, goodie bags and
awards. Each player will also receive a
complimentary round of golf at Monarch Country Club
and an Enjoyment Book.
“For 14 years CHARACTER COUNTS!
has provided character-building activities in our
schools and throughout our community,
encouraging good sportsmanship, good character and
increasing public awareness of the importance of
core ethical values,” CHARACTER COUNTS! director
Holly Laiben said.
“This charity golf tournament
is the sole fundraiser for CHARACTER COUNTS! and
helps ensure these activities continue.”
Golfers will also have an
opportunity to win this year’s hole-in-one prize, a
2010 Buick LaCrosse courtesy of Carl’s Buick,
Pontiac and GMC, as well as a resort getaway
sponsored by Monarch Country Club.
The dinner buffet and awards
ceremony following the tournament will feature a
live auction for such prizes as golf outings at
McArthur Golf Club, Loblolly, The Medalist, Harbour
Ridge Yacht & Country Club and much more.
